What we were asked to do
St Martin in the Fields commissioned us to create a spring/summer campaign that establishes a style with longevity, to be applied across numerous print and digital collateral. The design needed to be easily replicated and adaptable for various formats quickly and efficiently. As with all St Martin in the Fields creative, it was essential to convey a fresh summer feel while reflecting the seasonal theme.
We also crafted all the copy for the collateral, including key messages, encouragement to donate, and practical information for events.
What we did
After completing three creative concept options that included illustration and photography, the client chose the cutouts of summer flowers. Each flower was individually cut out, color balanced, and arranged with accompanying textures. Two colorways were developed, ensuring the design has longevity throughout the season. The flowers were then laid out and applied to a wide variety of print and digital collateral. Our copy team established a key narrative with variations for the different pieces, incorporating vibrant green leaves and flowers that seamlessly blend the themes of both spring and summer.
What they thought
The client was very happy with the final results due to the impactful seasonality and clarity of the messaging. The approach was so well received that we continued with it for the rest of the year, adapting the same style while changing the messaging and seasonality of the images used.
