What we were asked to do
We had to come up with a visual style for Comic Relief's Power-up Programme's 7 learning briefs. The design had to steer clear of using photos, work together as a set, and still pack enough punch to stand on its own.
What we did
We initially developed various creative concepts to explore illustrative approaches for the learning briefs, progressing from the approach used in the 2021 report. The selected route, named "Togetherness," employed a colourful illustration style depicting diverse groups of women holding hands in support. This approach ensured that people remained central to the design, while avoiding the use of photography.
What they thought about it
"They all look perfect! Many thanks to you and your team for this wonderful piece of work"
