What we were asked to do
Over a three-year period, St Martin-in-the-Fields Trust asked us to produce annual donor impact reports. Each report needed to demonstrate the impact of donor contributions for the previous year, with a focus on their key pillars of music, faith, and support for vulnerable individuals. The reports were designed to thank donors, illustrate how their gifts were used, and reinforce their importance in sustaining the Trust’s vital work. Each edition included a segmented cover letter, stories of those helped, and clear financial highlights to inspire continued support.
What we did
For each of the three years, we crafted an A5 report that highlighted St Martin’s achievements, focusing on programs like their music initiatives and the Sunday International Group (SIG). Each report included a tailored cover letter from Malcolm Butler, Chair of Trustees, acknowledging donors based on their gift size. We ensured the reports were both informative and engaging, using a warm, reflective tone to strengthen the emotional connection between the Trust and its supporters. The format remained consistent but evolved annually to reflect the changing priorities and achievements of the Trust.
What they thought
St Martin-in-the-Fields Trust was extremely pleased with the donor impact reports over the three years. The reports effectively communicated the value of donor support, while fostering a sense of pride and community among their supporters. Donors felt appreciated and were motivated to continue giving, seeing the tangible difference their contributions made each year. The Trust praised the reports for their clarity, emotional resonance, and the way they reinforced their connection with both major and smaller donors.
