What we were asked to do
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) asked us to conceptualise and design a set of practitioner guidance documents for tackling Gender Based Violence (GBV) in humanitarian aid and crises situations. This includes providing support to women and girls seeking services after experiencing gender-based violence. It needed to be easy to use, impactful and memorable.
What we did
Once the concepts were chosen and refined, we designed three comprehensive training packs tailored to meet the needs of the participants. Each pack included visually engaging charts and colourful chapters to ensure that the guides were easily accessible, featuring clear instructions and helpful tips. Our goal was to create resources that not only educate but also empower learners to apply their knowledge effectively.
What they thought
The guidance documents for practitioners designed by Yarn have been well received, with a lot of excitement around upcoming dissemination efforts. The team’s patience and flexibility kept things moving forward despite a few hurdles and delays, delivering everything on time. They were also open to feedback and met every request, making adjustments as needed. The final documents are impressively designed. The brightness, colours, and images are captivating, turning complex charts and potentially dense content into beautiful, user-friendly materials that make it easier for everyone to engage with the information.
