What we were asked to do
Capture a suite of bespoke imagery for Sue Ryder's bereavement support services, reflecting the emotions and dynamics of individuals coping with loss. Show online service usage and daily activities while maintaining sensitivity. Choose locations resembling typical homes to ensure relatability. Images will be used in clinical, online, social media, and fundraising contexts.
What we did
The project management and photography teams meticulously prepared for the shoot weeks in advance. Finding suitable models and location houses with versatile features took priority. Understanding the essence of 'normalcy' for bereaved individuals, we even enlisted an animal actor. Time was allocated to establish diverse family dynamics. With numerous setups scheduled for a single day, precise planning of call times, shoot pace, and team communication was crucial.
What they thought
The client was delighted with the style, emotion and number of shots captured for each set up especially as we were partly outdoors and restricted with weather. The number of final selects completely outweighed what was expected with a wide variety of images now available for the internal teams to use across their collateral and online.
