What we were asked to do

Create a direct mail (DM) pack with a focus on raising funds for The Children’s Society, emphasising the support provided to runaway children. The pack should have a serious and hard-hitting tone while incorporating a Christmas theme. Use Ruth's voice, a coordinator for the runaways service, to narrate Freya's story candidly, accompanied by bleak and direct stock imagery.

What we did

We successfully crafted a communication piece that met the requirements. Ruth's authoritative voice, combined with the emotional appeal of Freya's experience, resulted in an authentic and exceptionally moving DM pack. Bright and modern Christmas illustrations were incorporated into the lift pieces, allowing donors to send personalised messages of support to beneficiaries. The client was delighted with the outcome, and the fundraising results surpassed all expectations.

What they thought

The response rate exceeded the target, reaching 12.23% against the set goal of 10.50%. The average gift increased by £2, and the total funds raised amounted to an impressive £106,796, surpassing the target by £17,451, which was originally set at £89,345.
