What we were asked to do
We were asked to design Citizens Advice's annual report and accounts to clearly summarise activities, impact, and financial performance, ensuring transparency and accountability. The report needed to meet legal requirements while building trust with donors, partners, and the public by showcasing achievements and responsible use of funds. It should celebrate the charity’s 85th anniversary and The People’s Champion narrative, align visually with the impact report, and consistently reflect the ongoing brand campaign.
What we did
We explored four creative design routes to bring Citizens Advice branding and content to life, but it was Route 1 – Blocks that stood out. With bold colour pairings, icons, and offset headline blocks, this approach delivers a dynamic, flexible layout that works across both digital and print pages. After Citizens Advice chose Blocks, we developed the concept further and applied it to the report layout with signed-off copy, creating a clear, impactful, and user friendly design. This approach highlights key messaging, reinforces the brand’s heritage, and ensures the content is visually engaging and easy to navigate.
