What we were asked to do

Each year, we collaborate with the Alzheimer's Society to help them create their publications catalogue. The catalogue is a comprehensive collection of all the health information materials that the charity produce – making it easier for information professionals to find and order for the people they support. It's also intended to be used by individuals, should they need information following a diagnosis.

What we did

Our approach with the catalogue was to break it up and make it feel less like a listing and more like a magazine. We broke up the information giving key materials (for example core publications) more room to breathe with pull out quotes and case studies, and other more functional or simple items a bit less space as there wasn't quite as much to say.

Each section is designed to engage the reader, combining visual appeal with valuable content to create a publication that felt less dense in content (and therefore less daunting), while not actually losing any of that content. Each chapter was broken up with full-page images, detailed fact sheets, more pull quotes, and comprehensive information about dementia.

What they thought

Our client has been really happy with the ongoing development of the design and the process each year – we've produced them for four years now and no signs of stopping!
